The videos won’t load?

This could mean that you do not have the proper software/plug-in. Here are the technology requirements to view the videos and other resources

This site may use these forms of software in various courses: Adobe Acrobat PDF, QuickTime, Adobe Flash Player, Microsoft Word PC/MAC, Java, Real Player. To download these software components, follow the links.

If you continue to have difficulties it could be due to your internet connection speed. If you are a dial-up user, you may not be able to view the videos. It could also be due to your computer or company’s firewall. If so, talk to your company’s information technology expert.

Which videos are required for the course?

It is only necessary to watch the current video clip displayed when video appears on YouTube. You may choose to watch any additional video clips suggested by YouTube at the end of this clip with the understanding that they do not have any relation to the instruction of this course and are not screened for content.

How do I get my certificate of completion?

The criteria for a certificate of completion are that every page has been viewed, all quizzes have been passed with a 75% or higher, and a minimum of 1 posting to a discussion forum per course. Once this criteria has been met, an internal email is sent to the administrator. The administrator will review the criteria and email your certificate of completion to the email address used as your username.

What if I don’t pass the quiz(zes) in the course?

There are make-up quiz(zes) offered. This option will be offered to you at the end of the failed quiz.

What if I don’t pass the make-up quiz?

If you fail the make-up quiz, you become ineligible to receive a certificate of completion for that course.

What if I forgot to add a posting to the course discussion forum?

You many enter the course at any time to complete this task.

What is Level I credentialing and how to I apply?

Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential offers participants to apply certificates of completion towards a Level I school age/youth development credentialing. The Credentials help create a system of education and training that promote the optimal development and education of young children.  You can download an application from the Office of Professional Development

YDI does not assign credit hours to the online courses.  If you want to receive accreditation, you must complete all YDI courses and have the certificates of completion from each.  Please contact the Office of Professional Development or call (303) 333-6021 for questions regarding accreditation.

Do I have to complete the course within an allotted amount of time?

No. These courses are self-paced and you may return to complete them at any time. Once you complete the course (no matter how long it may take) then you will be eligible for a certificate of completion.

How much do these courses cost?
